Miriam Hyde
Composer
Miriam Hyde studied at the Elder Conservatorium in Adelaide,and at the Royal College of Music in London (1932-1935). Her style is lyrical and post-romantic. Her considerable output represents many genres and she is very well known for her piano music, particularly the numerous pieces written for students. She was honoured with the OBE in 1981 and the AO in 1991. She passed away shortly before her 92nd birthday on the 11th of January 2005.
