Rosanne Hunt

Rosanne Hunt’s eclectic cello life includes playing contemporary music with Forest Collective, period cello with the Melbourne Baroque Orchestra and the Australian Classical and Romantic Orchestra and chamber music with the Inventi Ensemble.

She appears in numerous recordings with many groups including the Elision Ensemble of which she was a founding member. Born in Melbourne, Rosanne studied first with her mother Marianne Hunt, then in Hobart with Christian Wojtowicz and in The Hague with philosopher-cellist Anner Bylsma. Later she renovated her technique with American cello pedagogy expert Irene Sharp in San Francisco. This engendered a joy of teaching which has become a strong thread in Rosanne’s career.
