Alwyn Humphreys
Alwyn Humphreys M.B.E. is a Welsh choral conductor and arranger. He was musical director of the Morriston Orpheus Choir from 1979 to 2005 and is its Conductor Emeritus.
His work sits firmly in the male-voice and community hymn-singing tradition, including arrangements of familiar Welsh and sacred repertoire.
For Move he conducted combined Melbourne Welsh and Victorian Welsh forces in gymanfa ganu programmes of hymns and traditional song, heard on The Welsh in Australia, Volume 1 (MCD 049) and The Welsh in Australia, Volume 2 (MCD 056).
