Eduardo di Capua

Very little is known about Eduardo Di Capua (1864-1917) except that he was a composer of Neapolitan songs. His most famous work is O Sole Mio which was written for a lover and sold to a publisher for just a few lira!

Very little is known about Eduardo Di Capua (1864-1917) except that he was a composer of Neapolitan songs.

Naples is a city of romantic cafes and moonlight walks, and Eduardo was captivated by the city of his birth. His music is passionate and filled with emotion and energy. He wrote O Sole Mio for a lover, and sold it to a publisher for just a few lira. Forty years after his death, a version of O Sole Mio titled It's Now or Never was recorded by Elvis Presley and sold over twenty million copies.
