Evan Fein
Evan Fein is a New York-based composer and pianist. His Cello Sonata No. 2, Op. 28 (2020) was written for a cello–piano duo and appears on the album Over Under.
On Over Under (MCD 611) he appears as both composer and pianist. The sonata, composed in 2020 and premiered in 2022, sits beside Brahms’s Cello Sonata No. 1 in E minor, Op. 38.
The programme was refined over three tours of North America and Australia, growing from a correspondence about the contemporary music scenes in New York and Melbourne into a sustained artistic exchange on both the compositional and interpretive sides of the music.
