James Genus
James Genus (born 1966) is an American jazz bassist on electric bass guitar and upright bass, long established in New York as a session musician and sideman.
He is among the New York players who brought lived-in jazz authority to the studio set Place (MD 3285), interpreting original pieces shaped by an outsider’s idea of that city’s tradition.
