Julian Day
Julian Day is a composer and sound artist whose pieces often leave flow and content open so that performers and chance events shape what happens. He also appears on organs and voice inside long collaborative improvisations.
Five Easy Pieces treats a recorder and percussion pairing as a space for colour and decision rather than a fixed argument. As An Infinity Room he works with multiple synthesizers; Super Critical Mass gathers temporary communities to sound out places with identical sources. In studio-built collaborative work he adds organs and voice to continuous spans drawn from improvised duets, with short poetic texts that both surface and dissolve in the texture.
