Kirby Shaw

Kirby Shaw is a choral arranger whose gospel-tinged settings of spirituals and popular songs sit firmly in the a cappella repertoire.

His arrangement of Down by the Riverside, shaped by gospel style, appears on the Melbourne sextet’s debut Pablo (MD 3257).

He is also credited on the Choir of Ormond College’s lighter programme Laughing (MD 3306), sharing the chart of the jazz standard Java Jive.
