Michelle Wright

Michelle Wright is a mandolinist associated with Melbourne’s classical plucked-string scene, appearing as a soloist with the Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra and related ensembles.

On Concordia Mandolin and Guitar Ensemble’s Ringing the Strings (MCD 557) she is the solo mandolin in a live performance of Stephen Lalor’s East-West. She is also among the featured soloists on the orchestra’s Move disc Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra (MD 3159), and is credited there as post-production music supervisor.

Performing as Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra

The Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra was formed in 1967 by Peter Evans and Josef Ruecker to develop and maintain a mandolin orchestra in Melbourne. Besides regular performance it organises summer schools and workshops, trains new players, hosts visiting groups and commissions new music.
