Sally Slade Warner

Sally Slade Warner (1932–2009) was an American carillonneur, composer and arranger whose hymn settings and folk-song transcriptions became part of the standard carillon repertoire.

Trained as an organist and later as a carillonneur in the United States and at the Royal Carillon School in Belgium, she was long associated with the carillon at St Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Cohasset, Massachusetts, and with the instrument at Phillips Academy in Andover.

Her carillon arrangements of traditional airs from the British Isles appear on Yes, It Rings a Bell! (MD 3224), among them The Bells of Aberdovey and Londonderry Air. Further arrangements feature on Carillon and Organ (MD 3270), recorded at the University of Sydney.
