Tommy Wolf
Tommy Wolf (1925–1979) was an American composer and pianist. His songs, among them Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most and The Ballad of the Sad Young Men, became jazz standards.
Working from St. Louis and later California, he wrote for cabaret, stage and television, and several of his songs moved firmly into the jazz repertoire.
Those two ballads in particular have been taken up widely by singers and instrumentalists, and they are the works through which he appears on Move.
