William N. McKie
William N. McKie (1901–1984) was an Australian organist, conductor and composer. Born in Melbourne, he served as City Organist there before becoming Organist and Master of the Choristers at Westminster Abbey.
He directed the music for Princess Elizabeth’s marriage in 1947 and for her Coronation in 1953, and wrote We wait for thy loving kindness, O God for the wedding service.
His Romance in G and his transcription of the Coronation March Orb and Sceptre appear on Melbourne Sounds Grand (MD 3120), recorded on the Melbourne Town Hall Grand Concert Organ.
