David Bollard
David Bollard is a New Zealand-born classical pianist who has made his career in Australia as a performer, teacher and adjudicator. He was a founding member of the Australia Ensemble from 1980 until 1998.
Born in New Zealand, pianist David Bollard lived in London, where he studied with Ilona Kabos and Louis Kentner, among others. Since moving to Australia in 1970, he has worked as a performer, teacher and adjudicator, and has lectured in piano and related studies as a staff member at a number of Australian university music schools.
He was a member of the Australia Ensemble from its inception in 1980 until 1998, and has taken part in many recording projects.
