George Mursell Garrett
George Mursell Garrett composed service settings, anthems and Anglican chants for the English church. His chant for Psalm 126 is among the settings that still shape cathedral and collegiate psalmody.
For forty years he directed the music at St John's College, Cambridge, writing for the daily round of Anglican worship. The catalogue places him with composers of psalm chants and liturgical pieces still sung in that tradition, heard here beside other Anglican and Taizé psalmody.
