Lê Thị Kim

Lê Thị Kim is a Vietnamese đàn tranh virtuoso, singer and composer in classical and village traditions. She has performed widely in Asia, Australia, Canada and Europe.

Lê Thị Kim is a virtuoso in Vietnamese classical and village music. A very active performer, she also taught at the Conservatoire of Music in Vietnam for several years. In 1984 she received the National Gold Medal for Excellence in Dan Tranh Performance. She has performed widely in Asia, Australia, Canada and Europe.

She also appears on the Move label through the group Back to Back Zithers.

Back to Back Zithers are four distinguished solo composer-performers who enjoy sharing each other's traditions and skills in the process of making a new Australian music. Since 1988 they have combines their original ideas with musical thoughts from Vietnam, West Java, mediaeval France and Italy in new compositions which transcend the boundaries of East and West.

Quivering String

Four composer-performers of Back to Back Zithers weave Vietnamese, Sundanese and mediaeval European strands into new Australian chamber music for zithers, flutes, voice and found sound.
