Luciano Tristaino

Luciano Tristaino is an Italian flautist specialising in classical and contemporary chamber music. He is a founding member of the flute, clarinet and guitar ensemble Trio Altrove 1.3.

With that trio he has performed and recorded new Australian chamber works. Their Move disc Kappa (MD 3313) grew from concerts and a 2005 Australian tour that included a live ABC broadcast in Melbourne.

He also appears as a performer on the contemporary chamber collection Hard Chamber (MD 3280). A long-standing flute-and-guitar duo with guitarist Gisbert Watty, begun in 1991, underpins the trio’s work.

Trio Altrove 1.3 developed from the coming together of three musicians – Luciano Tristaino, Flute; Marcello Bonacchelli, Clarinet; Gisbert Watty, Guitar – with a special interest in classical and contemporary chamber music.
