Matthew Wilkie
Matthew Wilkie is an Australian classical bassoonist. He is Principal Bassoon of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and Principal Emeritus Bassoon of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
He has recorded extensively with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, both in the full orchestra and with its wind soloists.
On Move he is the soloist in Odyssey for a Lone Bassoon on The Marvellous World of George Dreyfus, Vol. 2 (MD 3190).
The bassoon concerto Outposts was written for him; he gave its premiere with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in 2011.
