Neil Heyde
Neil Heyde is the cellist of the Kreutzer Quartet. On Move he appears as performer and producer in Australian chamber repertoire, including a substantial solo cello work issued beside the quartet’s album Unfold.
He is a long-standing member of the Kreutzer Quartet, one of Europe’s most active ensembles in new and lesser-known quartet music. On Unfold (MD 3371) the group presents mid-century Australian string quartets, with Heyde credited as both performer and producer. The companion release Unfold: Sequence for solo cello (MD 3381) is the solo cello piece recorded in the same sessions, a virtuosic single-movement study of motif, plainchant and extended techniques.
