Peter Marks

Peter Marks is a French horn player and producer whose passion for melody shaped a Melbourne studio project of jazz and classical musicians in arrangements from the Great American Songbook and related standards.

As creator of Seasons of Love (MD 3365) he chose the programme and produced the sessions, also playing French horn on several tracks. The album joins a jazz trio, string orchestra, and featured soloists in rich arrangements of show songs and standards, and was launched at the Melbourne Recital Centre in July 2013.

He is also thanked on The Art of Melody (MD 3425).

Crossing Paths

Ensemble Liaison and the Tony Gould Trio take turns across the programme: each piece is heard first in a scored reading, then in an improvised jazz response that opens the same melodic and harmonic material to fresh colour.
