Philip Wilby
Philip Wilby (born 1949) is a British composer, organist and choir director. He is best known for brass-band works, many written as contest test pieces and shaped by his Christian faith.
His writing also takes in piano, organ, voice, chamber forces and wind orchestra. On Victoria Brass Live (MCD 641) he appears as composer of The Pilgrim’s Progress, a narrative score on John Bunyan, and as arranger of the finale from Saint-Saëns’s Organ Symphony.
