Move Records Australian classical & art music, est. 1968

Phillipa Candy

Phillipa Candy is a Canberra pianist whose recital work ranges across art song, operetta and Christmas programmes. Her Move recordings capture concert repertoire shaped for Australian audiences.

Long-standing live programmes feed the discs. Looking to the Light (MCD 365) mixes sacred favourites and Australian carols with lighter children’s Christmas songs. The Magic of Operetta (MCD 418) grew from a cabaret show into a nostalgic survey of much-loved stage numbers. On Louise Page sings Richard Strauss (MD 3154) she partners a lyrical lied programme from early songs through later cycles. The work has reached Musica Viva, the ABC and audiences around the country.
