Robert Shaw
Robert Shaw was a choral arranger whose folk, traditional and spiritual settings became staples of the a cappella repertoire.
His long association with the Tanglewood Festival from the late 1940s produced joint and solo folk arrangements that remain widely sung, including Irish and American traditional songs and spirituals.
Melbourne ensembles have drawn on that catalogue: his work appears among the carol arrangements on O Come All Ye Faithful (MD 3053) and in the folk set on Pablo (MD 3257).
