Robin Fox

Robin Fox is an Australian composer and electronic musician whose work ranges across electro-acoustic composition, live electronics and sound design for contemporary dance.

He holds a PhD in composition from Monash University and an MA in musicology, with published writing on experimental music. His practice is known for immersive sound-and-light performance, including laser work for dance, and he co-founded Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio (MESS), a public collection of synthesisers and electronic instruments.

On Move he appears as composer and electronics performer on Conversations (MD 3289), a Monash research collaboration in team-based electro-acoustic composition and contemporary performance practice.

Conversations

The recording of Conversations is an outcome of a research project at Monash University’s School of Music. Six composers worked with performers to shape this electro-acoustic piece, joining team-based composition, contemporary performance practice, and music technology.
