Seymour Group
The Seymour Group was founded in 1976 by Peter Platt in the University of Sydney Music Department with the aim of performing works from the 19th and 20th century focussing on music by Australian composers.
It was formed to provide young performers experience in contemporary repertoire performance. The Group performed a diverse range of musical styles including chamber music, electronic music, contemporary jazz, chamber opera and music-theatre. It commissioned over 100 works by emerging and established Australian composers and made a significant contribution to new music in Australia. Artistic directors included: Vincent Plush, Stuart Challender, Myer Freedman, Anthony Fogg.

David Joseph’s Through Tropical Stars gathers five chamber works inspired by the natural world. From the garden-like imagery of Concertino to the quiet melancholy of The Afternoon, the music brings nature’s textures, patterns and sounds into focus.

Ian Cleworth
Ian Cleworth is an Australian percussionist, composer and teacher. After two decades as Principal Percussionist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra he became full-time Artistic Director of Taikoz, the Sydney taiko ensemble he co-founded in 1997.

Graeme Leak's percussion sharpens Larry Sitsky's De Profundis into an intense reading of Oscar Wilde's prison text, and he moves as performer and composer through the tape and live-electronic pieces of the WATT collective.
