The Piano Music of Linda Kouvaras
A talented musicologist and virtuoso pianist as well as a composer, Melbourne-based Linda Kouvaras wrote these works in response to specific locations - as a reflection on the lived experience of three distinctly different sites: a residential college at Melbourne University, the inner Melbourne bayside suburb of St. Kilda, and a working farm and historic homestead situated on the Shoalhaven River in NSW.
Recorded on the Steinway piano in the new Iwaki Auditorium, all of the music on this CD are premiere recordings featuring the composer at the keyboard. Press quotes:
