Emmanuel Chabrier
Emmanuel Chabrier (1841–1894) was a French Romantic composer and pianist whose free-spirited musical language helped open the way for later French modernism.
Best known for the orchestral rhapsody España and Joyeuse marche, he also left operas, songs and distinctive piano music. Without formal academic training he forged an independent style that later composers admired as inventive and catalytic.

A collection of 33 short organ works on the 1882 T.C. Lewis organ at St George’s Uniting Church, East St Kilda. The programme samples music written for small pipe organs and harmoniums, from Baroque chorales to twentieth-century miniatures.
