Move Records Australian classical & art music, est. 1968

George Thompson

George Thompson is a bassist heard on acoustic and electric bass. His recorded work includes the ambitious 1970s Australian jazz cycle inspired by Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.

He supplies the bass line across that restored trilogy, from swinging combos and blues to more film-like scoring of characters and scenes, including The Lord of the Rings, Vol. 1 (MD 3251) and the companion volumes. He is also a member of Pro Musica Strings.
