Racheal Cogan
Racheal Cogan plays soprano and alto recorders. She is a member of the Melbourne early-music ensemble La Compañia, devoted to sixteenth-century music with loud winds, percussion and improvisation.
On Music of the Spanish Renaissance (MD 3225) her recorders colour a programme of Guerrero, Enzina, Mudarra and others, including material heard in the film Elizabeth.
She also appears on The Rainmaker (MCD 078), bringing recorder lines to contemporary guitar works that range from Middle Eastern dance to free improvisation.

La Compañia, established in 1997, is dedicated to the music of the 16th century with a primary focus on loud winds and percussion, improvisation being a key element of the group's performance.
Music of the Spanish Renaissance
La Compañia's first CD gathers seventeen Spanish Renaissance works on period instruments with soprano Vivien Hamilton, including cues heard in the film Elizabeth but omitted from its commercial soundtrack.
