Tim Burstall

Tim Burstall (1927–2004) was an English-born Australian film director, writer and producer. He also wrote the words for the ABC children’s puppet series The Adventures of Sebastian the Fox.

Burstall co-founded Eltham Films in 1959 and worked across shorts, documentaries and features that helped rebuild an Australian screen industry, among them the popular Alvin Purple. The whimsical fox series yielded songs later heard on disc, including the theme and related numbers collected on Rush, The Adventures of Sebastian the Fox and Other Goodies (MD 3071) and revisited in performance on George Dreyfus … Live! (MD 3300). He was appointed AM in 1996.

The Marvellous World of George Dreyfus, Vol. 2

The second volume of marvellous music from one of Australia’s favourite composers, George Dreyfus. The programme ranges across folk ballads, choral suites, film and television themes, chamber works and solo showpieces, and gives a clear view of his many-sided craft.
