Barefoot in the Sky
Barefoot in the Sky fuses ancient and contemporary practice: rhythmic and melodic, organic and electronic, choral and tribal. It moves through enough moods for several albums, in a vein the artists call ambient space-world jazz.
David Jones percussion
Linda Laasi soundscape voice
Christopher Young woodwind
Most of the album is built from organic voice and percussion, including six-part harmonic writing on Night Sky. Soundscape singer Linda Laasi contributes an astonishing solo on If I Were the Sky. Christopher Young’s woodwind colours Night Sky and A Shaman’s Odyssey. David Jones brings wide instrumental range; Dean Frenkel works in traditional and contemporary throat singing.
Artists

Dean Frenkel

David Jones
David Jones is one of the most innovative and musical drummers in the world. He has toured nationally and internationally, performing and recording across rock, pop, jazz, classical, ambient, world music, cabaret, theatre, television and improvised works.
