Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach
Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714–1788) was a German composer and keyboard musician of the late Baroque and early Classical eras. A principal voice of the empfindsamer Stil, he helped found the expressive Classical style.
His music for keyboard, chamber groups and winds bridges the statuesque forms of the Baroque and the freer language that followed, with harmonic colour, dramatic silence and perpetually varied figuration.
On Move he is heard as composer of the 12 Variations auf die Folie d’Espagne (MD 3078), the Six Sonatas for winds (MD 3082), and the G minor flute sonata on Complete Bach Flute Sonatas, Vol. 1 (MD 3118), with further pieces in Bach-family and trio programmes.
