Erik Griswold
Erik Griswold is an American-born, Australian-based composer and pianist whose work spans contemporary classical, improvised and experimental music, with a strong focus on prepared piano.
Settled in Brisbane after moving to Australia, he has made prepared piano central to his practice as both composer and performer, alongside interests in percussion, environmental sound and the music of Sichuan province.
His prepared-piano writing includes Latin Rhythms on Chinese Whispers (MD 3296) and the brief toy-piano piece Chooks! on One (TP223). He has also appeared as a pianist in collaborative chamber settings, including on PRTZL (MD 3447).
