Colin Brumby

Colin Brumby (1933–2018) was an Australian composer and conductor whose prolific catalogue ranges across opera, concertos, chamber music, choral works and songs.

Colin Brumby was born in Melbourne and studied composition in Spain and London. He helped lay the foundation of permanent opera in Queensland as founding Music Director of the Queensland Opera Company from 1968 to 1971. His output shows considerable diversity, representing almost every form in the musical catalogue.
