Robert Clarke
Robert Clarke is a Melbourne percussionist and trombonist. His playing ranges from brass and contemporary chamber ensembles to marimba and xylophone on concert works and film scores.
He was a member of the Festival Brass Ensemble and the Victorian Time Machine, both active in Melbourne’s new-music scene. On the double album Reverberations (MD 3008) he plays trombone in works written for cathedral space; on Victorian Time Machine (MD 3028) he contributes percussion. His marimba is heard to striking effect on Classical Allusion (MD 3207), and he also plays marimba and xylophone on soundtrack recordings for Move.

Victorian Time Machine
The Victorian Time Machine, directed by Richard David Hames, grew out of the Victorian College of the Arts as an instrumental and vocal ensemble for new music. This 1979 programme pairs Guillaume Dufay with works by Hames, Barry Conyngham and James Fulkerson.
