Australia's longest-running classical music label
for Elvin ...
The Ted Vining Trio
This live recording of the Ted Vining Trio captures a real performance. "I was there for the concert ... it was exciting, humorous, lyrical and moving", says Jim McLeod, presenter of Jazz on Ovation.

The long-running Ted Vining Trio comprises Ted Vining on drums, Bob Sedergreen playing piano, and Barry Buckley on bass. Guitarist Stephen Magnusson makes a special guest appearance on two tracks.

The CD is dedicated to the great jazz drummer Elvin Jones who died in May 2004 aged 76. It was recorded in concert at Bennett's Lane in Melbourne on 28 March 2004.
Press quotes:
“...three powerful and idiosyncratic voices that have been together for decades. Vining's multi-limbed attack and Sedergreen's voicings can echo [Elvin] Jones' and are full of suprises. Vining has that uncanny ability to create rhythmic motion while makin git sound like a never-ending solo. The cameo from Steve Magnusson on two tracks adds extra depth and colour.”

— Leon Gettler, The Age 'Green Guide'
