Prepared for the national ceramic conference and exhibition at the Performing Arts Centre, Melbourne, the four pieces are group-composed in real time. Changes Ringing is a rhythmic phase work; Oh Boulez spoofs mid-century pointillism; Clay Castles improvises clay modules over a sung drone; For Judy and the Burglar sets drums and gongs moving around the ensemble.
Every performance differs. Sounds themselves are the working tools, and the music stays people-centred, experimental and tied to the occasion.
